Major Alternator Overhaul & Crane Recertification at Anchorage

Marine alternator overhaul · engine-room crane recertification24/7 anchorage attendance
Completed

Scope of Work

  • Complete alternator disassembly and extraction of heavy components, including stator casing and rotor handling, with barge support
  • Heavy-lift handling of components weighing approximately 4 tonnes under round-the-clock operations
  • Coil resistance measurements, insulation testing and diagnostic verification of the exciter and alternator windings
  • Mechanical servicing, electrical troubleshooting and control-system inspection of the engine-room service crane
  • Static and dynamic proof-load testing using a calibrated load cell for crane recertification

Project Outcome

Ocean7 Maritime executed the alternator overhaul and crane recertification at anchorage through continuous coordination between the vessel, workshop, barge, rigging and technical teams. The required electrical checks, heavy-lift handling and proof-load testing were completed successfully while keeping vessel downtime to an absolute minimum.
